SUMMARY:ESN - RSAT Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Runway Safety Action Team (RSAT) Meeting Scheduled for May 29\, 2026 | 10:00 AM EST \nIn-Person Location:\nEaston Airport Admin Office (29051 Corkran Road\, Easton\, MD 21601) \nVirtual Meeting Link:\nContact esnfct@midwestatcs.com for meeting link and passcode – more info here: https://eastonairport.com/runway-safety-action-team-rsat-meeting-scheduled-for-may-29-2026/ \n— \nRunway incursions remain a serious concern nationally. One important component of our ongoing efforts to improve surface safety at Easton Airport involves conducting a Runway Safety Action Team (RSAT) meeting at least once each year. You are cordially invited and encouraged to join our next meeting: \nThe purpose of this RSAT meeting is to unite those individuals and organizations that are actively involved in airside operations and movement of aircraft\, vehicles\, and equipment on the Airport Operations Area (AOA). We look for participation from all major airport interests (tenants\, fixed base operators\, and airport operations and maintenance personnel). Participants are asked to help develop recommendations and solutions to enhance surface safety. Those recommendations serve as the foundation for a site-specific Runway Safety Action Plan. \nPlease RSVP to Scott Stiefel at esnfct@midwestatcs.com by May 27\, 2026. Include the name\, organization\, phone number and email address of those who will be attending. \nIf you have questions or need more information\, please let Scott know. He can be reached at 410-763-8510 or esnfct@midwestatcs.com

SUMMARY:Upcoming MAC-Sponsored Webinar: Sunshine Might Come from Far Away-But It Can Affect Aircraft Navigation Systems
DESCRIPTION:This webinar will be about Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) Performance and the Impact of Solar Activity on Aircraft Navigation Systems.  Dr. S.V. “Vince” Massimini will present on WAAS and solar activity. Everyone has heard of sunspots\, and old pilots know about age spots. But have you had trouble getting an LPV approach to load in your Global Positioning System/Wide Area Augmentation System (GPS/WAAS) navigator in recent months? It is probably related to solar activity and sunspots. This webinar presentation will raise the awareness of significant solar activity\, such as sunspots\, how it can affect aircraft navigation systems\, and what actions pilots can take. \nThis webinar is made possible by a collaboration between MAC and the Baltimore FAA Safety Team. \nFor additional details and to register\, please click here.
