Tipton Airport – FME helps Patuxent Wildlife Research Center relocate cranes!
On Monday Dec. 5th, 2016, a flight transporting endangered whooping cranes, departed from Tipton Airport. The cranes are raised at the wildlife refuge adjacent to the airport and then transported to a location where they can be released into a flock. There are only about 600 whooping cranes in the world, so the eleven that were flown out of Tipton represent nearly 2% of the world population! Good to have an airport in your community.
