On March 22, 2023, the Maryland Aviation Council (MAC) organized the first-ever Maryland Aviation Day in Annapolis. The event saw an incredible turnout from leaders of Maryland and the State’s aeronautical community.
Maryland Aviation Day aimed to showcase the importance of the aviation sector to Maryland’s economy and how it supports various industries such as tourism, trade, and transportation. The event offered a platform for members to talk about their individual achievements in aviation and the potential for future growth and development in Maryland.
The evening reception, held at the Governor Calvert House in historic Annapolis, MD, was a significant step towards building stronger relationships with state’s policymakers. Industry leaders, aviation companies, airport representatives, government officials, and enthusiasts all attended the inaugural event and had a chance to tell their unique stories.
Maryland Aviation Day was the council’s first major public event since its inception and transition from the Maryland Airport Managers Association (MAMA). It was a great way for the organization to establish itself as an inclusive council for the State’s entire aviation community and demonstrate the commitment to reaching and informing the leaders of Maryland.
